The fastest-growing German luxury brand in Australia, Audi, has reached yet another record sales result.
Audi has closed the month of May with 611 units, ahead 41% for the period May 2007 year-to-date. Audi has now sold 3,143 units in the first 5 months and is clearly on a successful growth path in Australia.

Eclipsing its May 2006 result by an incredible 40%, the Ingolstadt-based brand is proving that Australian luxury car buyers are choosing Audi over its traditional European competitors thanks to exceptional product like the Audi Q7 sports performance SUV, new all-terrain A6 allroad quattro and the TT Coupe.

According to managing director, Joerg Hofmann, the companyʼs double digit growth targets are being met month-by-month, with a host of even more exciting new cars to be introduced Downunder in the remainder of the year.

“The Audi R8 is proving exceptionally popular with the strong demand already leading to a waiting list for this new sports coupe. With the new A5 and S5 models also soon to be launched here, Audi is in a good position to achieve steady, sustainable growth,” Mr Hofmann said.

“With these new products alone, we are seeing a ground swell of interest from luxury car buyers, but we have yet more models that will boost sales even further. The new TT Roadster is on its way, as is the compact, sportive S3 – cars that will appeal to sportscar lovers.

“And the new Q7 3.6 FSI SE model which is about to arrive will provide another option for SUV-buyers.

“Audi can offer a vehicle for every taste and this is being borne out by our successful growth in Australia. We remain confident that our record sales target will be reached at the end of the year,” Mr Hofmann said.

The brandʼs new model offensive is well-supported by investment in new dealer facilities including the $11 million Penfold Audi showroom which recently opened in Burwood, Victoria and the new $10 million Audi Terminal to open in Five Dock later this year.

“Our investment into product, facilities and brand campaigns such as our high level sailing regattas, which have seen Audi take the lead as the No. 1 supporter of competitive sailing in Australia, all build consumer confidence for Audi in Australia,” Mr Hofmann added.
